Blog FAQ

How can I add a news story to Cinema Treasures?
Use the Add News page to send news stories and related information to Cinema Treasures.

Can I email you a story from a news website?
If it all possible, please try to use our news submission form. That way, you'll get credit for your submission. (Using the form also means we'll be able to post your story faster.)

Can I repost an article I found on another site?
No. Unless we have some kind of agreement with the original publisher, Cinema Treasures does not republish source material. Instead, you should summarize the news story in your own words and include a link to the original source. (That said, it is okay to quote a paragraph of the original story, provided you include a clear attribution.)

How many articles do you publish each day?
Typically, we publish two to three stories per day. And if there's time, we also provide links to additional stories of interest.

I sent you an article, but it hasn't appeared in the news section. What's the deal?
Due to the volume of movie theater news out there, we're not always able to publish everything we receive. Of course, we'll do our best to use your submission, but this may not always be the case.

How can I link to an article?
Our news submission automatically formats any standard URL. But if you'd like to customize your link name, or add a link within a sentence, you'll need to enclose your link in a special URL tag, as seen below.

[url=http://yahoo.com]Yahoo[/url]

How can I link to a theater?
Linking to theaters works just like the above example, but with one exception. If you're linking to a theater on Cinema Treasures, you do not need to use the full Cinema Treasures URL.

[url=/theater/1/]Graumann's Chinese[/url]
[url=/theater/306/]Beekman Theatre[/url]
[url=/theater/509/]Villa Theatre[/url]

How can I add a photograph to my story?
If you'd like add a photograph or other image to your news submission, just email it to us and we'll add it to your story for you.

Why is my blog post different from what I submitted?

We strive to make your submissions look the best they possibly can. Accordingly, we often edit submissions to correct things like typos, spelling errors, bad grammar, or poor formatting.

While we do reserve the right to edit your post for any reason, we always aim to preserve the basic message and intent of the information you send us. If there’s a major problem, please let us know and we’ll try to fix it.

Also... please be aware that, due to our limited resources, we will not be able to communicate any changes we make before a blog post is published.
