TIFFIN, OH — Dennis Sankovich, who oversaw a $5 million renovation of the Ritz Theatre and helped grow the theater’s annual budget to $1.4 million, is stepping down from his position, according to this report in the Toledo Blade.

Since taking the reins at the Ritz Theatre, in 1998, Sankovich has been instrumental in forging the theater’s return to glory. As one member of the theater put it, “He couldn’t be any more important to the fact that this theater is what it is today,” he said. “Dennis has pointed us, as an organization, in the right direction.”

In this new job, Sankovich will be joining the Riley Education and Performing Arts Center in Meridian, Mississippi as executive director, where he will help guide a $31 million renewal project that includes exhibition and convention space.

More information about Sankovich’s departure can also be found in the News-Messenger.
