Long Beach Cinemas to reopen

LONG BEACH, NY — Great news from the LI Herald. After abruptly closing a couple of months ago, the Long Beach Cinemas will reopen on June 10.
The owners flirted with taking an offer from a large retailer but were overwhelmed by the uproar for the community over destroying its beloved theatre.

At least Long Beach patrons still have the recent and beautifully restored Art Cinema on 4th Avenue to enjoy.
I don’t live in the area, but it’s heartening to read/hear about the re-opening of cinemas. There’s hope for true-blue movie theatres and the moviegoing experience yet!
