Photographer ’s project aims to capture “the beauty of projectors and portraits of the people who run them before they’re gone forever ”
NEW YORK, NY — New York City-based photographer Joseph O. Holmes is working on a project called “The Booth” where he captures images of projectionists all over the Northeast. The aim to accurately detail the atmosphere of these people and the rooms they work in before this craft fades away with digital projection.

Cinemark is expanding its reach again with is purchase of Rave Cinemas over the weekend. After Carmike purchased 16 of their screens last month, Cinemark is now buying everything else from the chain that reportedly brought in $228 million in revenue last year.

Bud Mayo at Digital Cinema is interested in purchasing the mainly suburban Northeast chain, Clearview Cinemas. He actually founded the chain in 1994 before selling it to Cablevision five years later. He’s now looking to expand his brand and with only ¼ of the screens converted to digital, Cablevision has been looking for a buyer.
