BUFFALO, NY — The North Park Theatre is reopening this Friday March 7 with lots of excitement on the horizon. The renovations, rumored to be as much as $250K, will have the theatre looking good as new. What’s even better is they’re aggressively trying to book more films with a greater turnover in order to give their loyal audiences the most options.

CARY, NC — The Cary Theater will open to the public this weekend after a $6.2 million dollar renovation and expansion which includes live shows and classic movies. The project on the 1946 theater took over a year and the theatre has never looked better.

GLEN COVE, NY — Glen Cove Theatres was set to reopen this month but now it’s looking more like April. It’ll be worth the wait though as they’ve installed digital projectors, new seats and even a children’s game room. The future of the theatre was in doubt but with new local ownership and support, they appear set for the future.

SAGINAW, MI — Goodrich Quality Theaters' new state-of-the-art Quality 10 GDX opens today with dollar movies to benefit the Covenant Kids Foundation. Among the amenities this station offers is a 30 x 70 GDX screen, the largest indoor screen size north of Flint, Dolby Atmos sound on three of its theaters, two 3D capable screens, all stadium seating and all digital projection. First run films showing at regular prices will begin on Friday.

ALAMOGORDO, NM — The White Sands Theatre reopens today! After thousands of volunteer hours and a dedicated staff effort the Historic Sands Theatre is going to start showing movies again.
The theatre was transformed in 1987 into a Christian Broadcast TV Station, KVBA Vision Broadcasting. A group of men and women have come together to reopen the movie side to show family based movies, Christian-based. It will be awesome to see a piece of history come back to life. It is surly a work in progress, each visitor to the show will help us come closer to finishing the full remodel. God Bless and hope to see you at the movies.

SAGINAW, MI — The Goodrich Quality Theatres chain has announced that their new Quality 16 GDX Theatres will open on January 17. It replaces the adjacent Saginaw 12 which will be town down upon the new state of the art cinema’s completion.

PIKESVILLE, MD — The renovation mentioned months ago has finally been completed with the reopening of the Pikes Theatre. They plan to show a mix of first-run films and even have new stadium seating. Throughout the complex that includes a restaurant in front, there are still signs of its original grandeur.

KALAMAZOO, MI — Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas has announced that their new Kalamazoo location in the renovated former Rave CityPlace will open on November 18. The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on Tuesday, November 19. This is Alamo Drafthouse’s first Michigan location.

TRAVERSE CITY, MI — The Bijou by the Bay officially opened on October 18 with the classic 1939 film “Gone With The Wind.” Admission for the weekend shows are $5 and a community celebration is planned for November 21. A schedule of films at the theater can be found at their official website.

LA CIOTAT, FRANCE — Home of the first presentations of early films by the Lumiere Brtohers, the Eden Theatre has reopened following extensive renovations. Opening in 1889, the building hasn’t had consistent usage in over thirty years. The theatre will now house a permanent exhibition to these pioneers of film along with regular film screenings.
