Wasn’t this cinema also known as Dollhouse and/or Penthouse in the 1970’s?

This theatre had a qausi old west look. Wonder if it had any interior decoration?
Elaborate movie palaces are certainly a lot of fun to explore, but on hind site, if picture and sound quality were good, did it make much difference if sometimes the theatre itself was drab?

Casual inspection of 1940s photos reveal that the actual name was Oklahoma Theatre, not Oklahoman.

After looking at interior/exterior photos I can’t help but wonder if Harold Gemino was architect of this cinema. The facade and rustic, exposed beam auditorium are so similar to his Sooner Theatre, Norman, OK.

Shown here is a 1970 shot of the 1903 Overholser Mansion. Henry Overholser built the 1889 Opera House, 1903 Overholser Opera House, 1913 Colcord Airdome, and was held an interest in Stanley-Warner stock.

An understandable mistake, fellas, but the Palace became the Tulsa Theatre.
Up on Main and Second, the Wonder Land Nickelodeon was renamed Strand Theatre.
Look at this 1885 shot, its a fun image of one of Tulsa’s earliest theatres, photo caption tells all.

These two 1930s images are most likely those of the Pix Theatre in Atoka, OK.

Photo right of this 1910 image, where the “Tulsa” arch joins onto the drug store/hotel, is where the Uptown Theatre would later be built. Lyric Theatre is visible photo left.
