This building seems to be a like a cat with nine lives!

The building has reopened again this week as a furniture warehouse.

Permission has now been granted to demolish the auditorium whilst keeping the facade. Flats will be built in its place.

I’m wondering if there are any surviving interior photos of the Regal in stalls and circle configuration?

The Gala Bingo club, which has been open since 1974, will close on Thursday 7 June 2018. Gala were offered a sum of money for the building which they couldn’t refuse and it is to be sold as a banqueting hall

Could anyone confirm if the proscenium and auditorium ceiling have been altered or hidden, looking at some photographs it certainly was the case and being a listed building had to be restored?

The building has again found a new lease of life. The auction room, gym and betting office have closed and the building has been gutted. In what was the auditorium, the space has been opened up again for the first time since the 1940/1950s. Revealing the walls of the old cinema and old corn exchange. The building is now an upmarket café/restaurant and bar now known as the Kino, harking back to the days when it was a cinema.
