I might add The lady that runs it was real nice. I had a projectionist with me one night and he had ran that same equipment years ago and he made an adjustment on the projector,
She was a very trusting lady to let Charlie work on a minor adjustment. I told her she should print T SHIRTS and i think she said she did at one time. She Also said they had a web site.

When I get to Charlotte it is doing GREAT business in the Summer.Part of the screen was blown over by HURRICANE HUGO and was replaced using the siding on the fence.
If you get there late it is packed. There is another Drive in inKINGS MOUNTAIN,N.C. I guess it opens in the summer. The Belmont is operated by a local family. The only bad thing is last i was there and i am from Augusta is the Concession and rest rooms need some serious work.
They should be making enough to put back in the Drive in. Maybe they have fixed it,its been 3 years since i was last there.

I went by this theatre tonight enroute to see Christmastown USA…McAdenville NC. The sign said…Closed for the holidays so I knew it wasn’t closed, for good…only for the holidays! Great to read that it opened in 1946 and to see that it is still open and showing movies. Congratulations!

The Iris Theatre is not listed on Ct, the address was or is 112 S. Main St., the building still stands but I am not sure what it is used for.

According to Bowers' “Encyclopedia of Automatic Musical Instruments” page 551, there was a “Iris” theatre in Belmont, equipped with a Reproduco organ made by the Operators Piano Co. I could not find a page for the Iris, so I am putting this here for the time being.
