Yeah,But no doors going into the Theatre,you heard eveything in the Lobby!
“Pufnstuff”…“Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”…“Fiddler on the Roof”…“The Bermuda Triangle”??? & “In Search of Noah’s Ark”??? (there were like 2 or 3 of those strange documentary-type movies out back then)…and some BORING, BORING, BORING movie about some teacher that went down to some poor part of the country to, well, to teach! (Hey..I was a little kid whose mom dragged me to this movie! She had to feed me candy to keep from whining, and then I just fell asleep! She also bought me a couple of comic books as part of the deal, from what I remember!)…….those were just some of the first movies I ever saw in Augusta, as a kid. Walk in, box office was on the left, concession stand was on the left (pretty small one), and bathrooms were straight ahead! The picture that was on here earlier reminded me that behind the theater, across the street was the Navy National Guard place…I remember the anchor out front. Also, down the street, was a Dairy Queen with a small, handmade village that was built by the firemen at the fire station right across the street. People would always bring their kids, or their dates, to that little village. Daniel Village Theater was one of my favorites growing up!

Nov. 28 1969 one ELVIS' last movies, “CHANGE OF HABIT”
July 7 1967 has “GUIDE FOR A MARRIED MAN” playing.
DANIEL VILLAGE TWIN CINEMA,grand old screen gone,but 007 is here for a double feature “MOONRAKER” and “FOR YOUR EYES ONLY”.

Just a few i spent most of my time collecting movies for our ABC/PLITT THEATRES here in Augusta.
August 1 1977 and DANIEL VILLAGE TWIN is still running “SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT” and picks up from NATIONAL HILLS Disney’s “HERBIE GOES TO MONTE CARLO” two car flicks at the twin.
Was he a manager? Must be where you got it from .LOL.
My Dad worked at all of the downtown theatres at one time or another. He worked at the drive ins too.
Robin, didn’t you have family work here too or was that the downtown theatres.
Feb 27 1985 and at Daniel Village Twin they are playing “STARMAN” and “TOMBOY” They are charging a dollar a seat.
The kind of movie that does okay at DANIEL VILLAGE “THE HEARTBREAK KID” opens 03-07-73 rated PG.

Ed it is within walking distance,long walking distance.National Hills theatre was right across the street.
Do I remember correctly that the golf course where the Masters is played every April is on or near the road leading up to the former Daniel Village Theater?
I have somehow forgotten to mention the large road marquee at DANIEL VILLAGE.It wasn’t anywhere near the Theatre but on Gordon Highway directing folks onto Highland Ave to DANIEL VILLAGE. It must have stood 50 feet or more above the road and must have been hairy to change letters. It was there for a long time before it was removed and I never never really knew why unless it was so far away at a couple of miles.
Walt Disney’s Re-release of “BAMBI” plays at DANIEL VILLAGE.
Disney’s “BEDKNOBS AND BROOMSTICKS” opens at Daniel Village.
Walt Disney’s BLACKBEARD’S GHOST opens to nice run at Daniel Village. Most Disney product plays here with National Hills theatre picking up some releases.
“YELLOW SUBMARINE” I am pretty sure played at the MILLER.
NO it wasn’t that Big. I think DANIEL VILLAGE might have been just a bit smaller than National Hills.
Was it 510 seats a side????
It wasn’t a bad theatre until GEORGIA THEATRES split it down the middle.
