I have fond memories of the Sat matinees in the mid 1950’s to about 1960. All the neighborhood kids would scream and yell at the sci. fi. flicks, or the 20 cartoons, or Abbott and Costello films.
Latter my Dad was a projectionist there and I remember walking up the spiral metal staircase from the lobby, near the candy stand to the booth!

This theater rocked. I still remember the old ladies in squeaky shoes who roamed the aisles with flashlights looking for bad kids.
The manager, a guy with a pencil-thin mustache used to store packages of his hot dog buns in the barber shop next door.

The above post is for another Graham Theatre. The one for this located should read 3171 Whitney Ave. and that one seated 951 people.

This theatre was run by Golden Theatres in the 70’s & 80’s. The throw was only about 250 feet. The actual auditorium was gutted and incorporated into the condos. Only the lobby was razed. Golden Theatres stopped operating this theatre when they acquired the Oceana Theatre in Brighton Beach.
