true class offers nothing to this message board about saving the Dupage Theatre.I will not respond to true class.I will post around true class.
I hope that the other preservationists who post on this website will do the same.

Challenger.Let’s let by gones be by gones.Let us start a new round of talks.Forget what was said before on this message board. Both sides have been very outspoken.Issues and opinions are at a peak.Let’s take a calmer approach to the Dupage Theatre restoration.
I would like to know just what a new group could accomplish that our group couldn’t? But the most important thing is would a “new” group be able to change the vote to demolish the theatre. Also there is the issue of the grant money that was rejected by the village board.Could that grant money ever be restored?Exactly what do you mean when you say “a group that will work with the Village and not against it”? Please explain!
Just a thoughtful reminder.Caps lock “please”.Remember that.

In response to Dupers earlier post, I would like to sing one of my favorite songs from Carole King…“It’s too late baby now it’s too late…”

Jim,
You should go and have a few cocktails in Villa Park with your ex-Friends. Make a toast to the grand lady…She deserved a better support team.

Duper Supporter. DuPage Dude. Restoration Rita and Unconcerned taxpayer are the same person….Jim Devitt. He does not live in Lombard and has not done anything constructive to save the theatre. These are FACTS!

Dear Neighbor,

I, too, got ripped for my 9/13/05 suggestion that a new group be formed to explore other options to save the theatre. A group that will not resort to making threats or name-calling. One that will work WITH the Village and not AGAINST it. The friends burned too many bridges. We are 54 days away from 2006 and year 7 of this debacle.

I agree but one more thing about this library/theatre idea.

You guys are a little slow on the uptake. See my posts starting August 13 where I begged for this idea to be considered and was ripped apart by the same people who are now pushing for it.

Now that reality and desperation has set in you are all grasping at anything you can.

I do feel this would still be a great option BUT you must give up on a fully restored theatre unless a huge amount of private dollars can be raised FAST. The best you can hope for now is a partial restoration of the auditorium and lobby in conjunction with the new library.

Desperate times call for desperate measures – you better start talking to the library board and I mean NOW.

Challenger. Please don’t try and stop the free discussion on the issues of saving the Dupage Theatre.Remember the quote from Abraham Lincoln.
“Public sentiment is everything. With public sentiment nothing can fail.Without it nothing can succeed."
Remember that?
Challenger. What ideas do you have about saving the Dupage Theatre?
Feel free to post your ideas.

Dear True Class, insanity, melders, and Neighbor,

DO NOT respond to duper, dude, toni, or Rita’s post anymore.
They are just antagonists who must always get the last word in.
Look at dupers posts:

7 posts in an hour and they were all mind-numbing.
This is just a guy with no life and nothing better to do.
Remember:

Stop Posting and these guys will disappear

Dude. Those are “great” ideas.I feel that a petition drive is a “must”.
I am waiting for Ms.Dynako and toni to respond.Toni.The petition drive.
Reconsider it.Just talking is taking up valuable “walking time”.
The “friends” are “not a social club”.Let’s not loose sight of our goal.
So far there is “nothing” to" celebrate".

Great idea Duper! I had mentioned that very thing the other day before TC/LAMP started up again… Why not put the childrens section where the apartments/shops are now and build a new adult section and offices on the south property? Use eminent domain to take some of the houses just east of the theatre and build a parking garage there!
I STILL would like to see a petition drive instead of a “Say Goodbye to the DuPage” cocktail party—in VILLA PARK!!!

True class. Doubtful.No. Wrong again. But keep trying. All you are doing is avoiding the isues.Well it isn’t working for you.I will just “post around you."
Let’s talk about a petition drive.Let’s talk about a library and a fully restored Dupage Theratre side by side.Meddlers had a real good idea..
Let’s talk about it.

hdtv267 is absolutely right.Let’s stop the personal attacks.
I liked meddlers idea of the library and a fully restored Dupage Theatre
side by side. Both complementing each other. What a dynamic duo that would be for downtown Lombard.
Let’s talk about it.
Just a reminder to toni and Ms.Dynako.Time is marching on.The clock won’t stop for the friends.Consider the door to door petition drive. Please!

Here we go again…Facts? Based on what? I, for one, know I’m not Jim…Once again, VERY VALID points are raised by a THEATRE SUPPORTER, and you try to sidestep the issues and go off on a tangent. Where’s the proof? The same place the “disgusting” e-mails are I bet—only in your mind!!!

Rita.Dupage dude is right.Time is a luxury that we do not have.
Making nice – nice with the opposition will get us “nowhere”.
Dude is right.A petition drive of all registered voters will show the trustees that the majority of Lombard residents are in favor of restoring the theatre.Let’s put the burden of their vote to demolish the theatre on their shoulders.
