……… Viewing hours at 3:30, 6:00, 8:30 and 11:15.
Looking at the show times on their site, they have to have 2 screens…
Google is asleep at identifying Monahans on the map. It is located here:
And I think I found the old drive-in (there could have been more than one)

James, you have no contact info, and I’ve been by there 3 times in June, and no one is ever around. I’d like to take some photos for the group.
Last time I drove by, I did not see much other than a new boarded up front. Did look like a new roof from peeking through the front. Last picture I have is from March 2009
Went through a month ago, but was busy taking pictures of a few other abandoned buildings, namely the old high school. Interesting old town…
Who said I did it the hard way? Just saving some users a little time by giving a direct link to the exact address, instead of a generic city name.
Found it right here…..
I’ll be passing through Falfurrias in the next week or so, I’ll see if I can find out anything. If nothing else, some pics…
Not a good photo, but here’s what it looks like now. At least the steps are still there!
Guess it works out! Church makes all it’s racket on Sunday and Wed nights, after the Realty office is closed….
Good, building still there. Looks like Child and Family Services (Teen Resource Center) now.
First National Bank, sorry…. (Drive through area) The tree(s) you see to the right of the drive through, are old enough that one was likely the one in the picture to the side of the Alamo Theater. So the Google link I have earlier showed the side of the theater, the front facing to the right.
Here’s a couple of small shots of the Alamo back in the day…
Stopped by today and spoke with an older lady at a shop, she said the Alamo was torn down long ago, and a First State Bank now sits in it’s place.
She pointed right at this spot.
Yep, looks like 2 or 3 entrances to the building. Sun Realty is listed in some places as 206 or 206B N. Main St. So they could be the central entrance, the left side entrance looks like it goes up some steps first. My guess is there are at least 2 business at this address. Not sure where 282 N. Main St. above refers to.
The reason for the name, more than likely, was due to it being in a suburb called Arlington Heights, just West of Fort Worth.
Yes, I remember when this theater was torn down when they were widening the freeway. There was quite a few buildings in that side of the freeway that are now gone. If I can find it, I still have a piece of the blueish tile that was part of the facade of the building.
June 1 2009 Pic…. Still looking good….

To get the map link at the top of the page to work, change the spelling of the highway to Asheville.
Wrong photo again!
cinemadude, wrong photo there….
This is likely the site, due to the shape of the lot….
Google Map view.
Change ZIP code to 74501
At least 72 films were filmed in Las Vegas, NM to date. I just spotted the theater in Red Dawn.
