I am a direct decendant of the family that owned and operated the Tracy Theater. I live in Long Beach and I am a Political Consultant. I can direct you to other family members to give you more details on the theater.

the tracy was opened in 1925 as the capitol…which was a silent movie house

The Tracy Theatre was located at 219 E. Seaside Way.

The Tracy was still standing in the Summer of 1973. It had a rusty, wedge shaped marquee which had later supplanted the one in the photo. Many of the window panes on the arched facade were broken, and the entrance was boarded up.
