Opened in 1968 with the Delaware premiere showing of “The odd couple”. closed 12 years later in 1980 when it last showed “The Exterminator”.

It’s so great to finally see a post on this theater. I thought it was forgotten. I didn’t know of it’s existance until I moved to DE in 2005. What a creepy site, especially when you walk up and peer through the broken windows. It looks like a luxury liner shipwreck. The chandelier still hung, in tatters, a year ago. You can also see where the consession stands once stood. I was not going to even chance walking in, for feer of death, but, I will try to post some pics or video soon.

You’re right about the name change-looking at newspaper ads, it was spelled as “Cine'Mart” at least through 1974, but even then it read “CineMart” at times, depending how the ad designer was feeling that day! I drove past the place last weekend, and the standing “wide screen look” sign is still next to the building, although blank. Guess “Cine Mart” it is!

Edwin, I think the name should be changed to Cine Mart. Every place I’ve checked, that is how it is listed. Even today, after all these years, up on the building it still reads Cine Mart. What do you think?

The entire name of those that ran it, as far as I know was, ABC Eastern Theaters.

Anyone else have more info or photos?
