Its good to have a new company in the NYC area. I’m sick and tired of AMC and Regal popping out new theaters. It nice that there’s no more territories.
This was never a Loews. You must be confused by the AMC/Loews Stonybook 17 in Long Island NY
I beleive that Loews is a brand of AMC . In NYC the Loews name goes back for nearly a century. The newspaper listings usually says AMC Loews so and so cinema
Cablevision is still looking for a buyer . in the meantime I hope it takes a long long time

This theater was never a Crown property.
Crown was never under the protectection of bancruptcy court. A majority of its theaters was sold to Bow Tie
Seth Basacas that was one of the best speehes on the love of the theatre and cinema I’ve ever heard.
The only other theaters with a theme moniff are the Movico/Cinemark24 in Maryland (Egyptain), and Westbrook 12 in Westbrook CT (Sci-Fi).Im sure there’s more. The Soundview is a good anternitive to the mega multiplexes

I remember thatwhen it was the Austin back in the 60’s 70’s they play similar stuff with the Mayfair in Fresh Meadows. Did they both had the same owner?
Bow Tie will manage the theateras its own probaly to the end of its lease.It will be up to Cablevision to determed it fate . I can see it as a live theater venue like Radio City Music Hall and the Beacon theater for smaller acts.
If Bow tie included the Ziegfeld in its purchase it will drain them but Bow tie will manage the theater until Cablevision decide what to do with it. Closing will be in about 6 weeks

I think because of the traffic patternand the size of the land that surround the multiplex, I doubt a outlet center will suffice. This area need a strip mall with a Major supermarket .
