The Bayers Lake’s IMAX as of late 2011 is no longer Atlantic Canada’s only IMAX screen. One opened in St. Johns NF at the Avalon Mall. In 2010 Cinema one was removed to enlarge the refreshment area and all other cinemas were renumbered.
This opened as Capitol on November 11th, 1924 and reopened as Telenews on September 19th, 1941. Sterling owned it during the Telenews years. Both grand opening ads posted here.

The Broadway Theatre on Capitol Hill will close its doors for the last time tonight. The Pay'n Save store next door is scheduled to expand into the theater’s space at the corner of John and Broadway.The Broadway’s last picture show is “We’re No Angels.” It opened as the Society Theater in 1911.
