I just click on the numbers and the pictures appear.
I read about the Picwood in Maggie Valentine’s book, “The Show Starts On the Sidewalk”. There is even a picture of the Picwood at night. It really must have been a beautiful theater.
How about a picture or a web address where a picture can be seen?
Clarkus….the “big doom” explain your post please.
Bentz…I do believe I read somewhere that your grandpa would do his school homework in the boxoffice. Ask him about that. Also wasn’t the interior walls done in a crushed velet at one time? I think your grandpa changed it after the flood of 1972. Ask him about that as well.

Could this also be known as the Halifax drive in?
I wonder how they can show first run movies at $3.00 a ticket…is that cheap. Where I live a first run ticket costs $9.00. May you have all the best of luck!!!
Markedmunds….Your right the main auditorium was twinned. The other screen was on the former stage. Not in the balcony. You walked down a long hallway built inside the 2nd auditorium then onto the former stage.
True….The township would be looking at it from a tax standpoint.
Why would they take commerical realestate and turn it into residental….look at the tax money the township would be losing….Come on Jake…get with the program!
Outside Owl…I made a trip from Harrisburg to the Pitt. I guess I will have to make another trip. Thank you for the update.
Patsy… What county in Pa. is Greenville located in? Any idea? The reason I ask is. If one would write the historical society of that county, they may have photos of the Jordan. Maybe more then what are on CinemaTour. I tried this with the counties in my area of Pa. Also I wrote the the historical society of San luis Obispo in California for pictures on the Fremont..still waiting for those.
Warren…how can I access your photos of the Embassy. The site tells me they are not there? Can you repost them or send them to my email address? Thanks Warren
Cool vintage picture of the Devon.
I think they are just being good capitalists. The more popular the film they place it where they seat more. More seats=more people=more dollars generated. Am I wrong to think that?
Jack, I was in Milton on Sunday evening. Milton now has a walking tour of the town. Its a one mile tour with 14 sites. Each stop features photo/literature kiosks. The Capitol site features a lengthy write on the Capitol as well as some neat pictures. Pictures that are included are the one of the Agnes flood, the fire and the Dec.21st 1963 picture of the auditorium filled with kids waiting for Santa to appear.
