Loew’s Westerville was on the end of Westerville Square. The facade is almost the same as i remember seeing films as a kid. Blue roof with big red loews letters. now fake windows replace the loews sign.
The Garden Theatre’s sign will be lit this weekend for the first time in 30 years. It’s the future home of the new Short North Stage theater troupe.

I was in the cleve today! looks like the church now owns it. new “linden cleve” sign replaces the for sale sign. inside is just brick and steel beems. It still has the projection room. you walk in the front door to lots of wood paneling. nothing left from its theater days.
I’ve been in this building. public access channel 21 looked at it for it’s new TV studio about 10 years ago. just a big open space. still had the projection room. front lobby was like a doctors office check-in space.
‘not moveable chairs’ on both sides. the seats in the middle came from a high school. i read that they are trying to raise money to restore the rockers that were in the drexel grandview.
Now THAT’s a theater! cool look.

i hope this happens but 1.5 million is a lot to invest.
the cleves floor has been leveled from back to front of the building so there is a big difference in floor height about 20 feet from the front door.

the library opened May 14, 1952. the theater is still standing next to it. same building look at the windows.
