I got past the first page, but now I’m on the second. I filled in ‘Retail’ under ‘Functions’, and pressed ‘Add’, and that cleared the form field I had just filled in. Now I press the ‘Finish Theater and Save’ button, and it does nothing at all. No new page, no waiting for a new page, just nothing.
Here’s the URL for the page I’m now on: http://cinematreasures.org/theaters/35976/finish?name=Retail&commit=Add
I assume by ‘tomorrow’ you mean Thursday, so I’ll wait until then.
Can you make the blog show how many comments each post has?
I am trying to add a new theatre (Champion Theatre in Columbus, Ohio). When I hit the “Save Basic Theatre Information” button, I get a page that says “We’re sorry, but something went wrong”.
This error message is not at all informative! Could you please change it to explain what I have done wrong when filling out the form, please?
The map location shown here is not correct. The theatre is actually north of Binney Street, and its main entrance is on Binney.
Bway, I’m using Google Chrome. All of the other comments here look fine, except for Bway on May 31, 2011 at 12:09 pm, which is cut off by the column’s right margin.
Patrick – yes please make the links a different color and/or underlined!
I can’t read Bway’s comment above this one because it overflows the right column. Can you fix this?
Thanks. And finally, how do I fix incorrect maps? I’ve tried to pick up the red pushpin and move it, but that doesn’t work. A number of Boston theatres are on the wrong streets, because the city has multiple streets with the same name in different neighborhoods.
How do I make my e-mail address visible in my profile so that other people can see it and e-mail me?
Patrick, this is an example of a theatre that doesn’t have a StreetView
but it should:
How do I add it?
How do I add a Street View to a theatre that doesn’t currently have one?
Ed, it’s not quite what you’re asking for, but you can click on “2,766 comments” in your profile, and see all of your comments in reverse chronological order.
Thanks! Is there a page where I can see a list of all of the theatres that I have subscribed to?
Patrick: but it also looks like leaving a comment no longer subscribes you to the theatre — you have to also do that separately afterwards if you want.
The map doesn’t really show this in the correct location. There is no longer a street called Tremont Row, so to be accurate the map should probably show the Center Plaza building.
A few comments here mentioned the telephone company museum, which until recently was in the Verizon building at Post Office Square. That museum is being relocated to the Verizon building in Bowdoin Square, just a short distance from where the Palace stood.
The map does not show the correct location of this theatre. It was not on Bowdoin Street on top of Beacon Hill, but rather in Bowdoin Square at the bottom of the hill. I’ve updated the Street View to show the telephone company building which now stands where the theatre was. I don’t know how to update the map.
This theatre is mapped in the wrong place – on Howard Street in Roxbury, instead of the no-longer-existing Howard Street that was in Scollay Square.
It looks like adding a comment to a theatre no longer automatically subscribes you to its comments — is that correct and intended?
Thanks. I still don’t understand how to update a map location, though.
This theatre is mapped on the wrong Washington Street (Brookline, instead of Boston’s South End), miles from where it belongs.
This theatre is mapped on the wrong Washington Street (Brighton, instead of downtown Boston), miles away from where it belongs.
This theatre is currently mapped on the wrong Washington Street (Brighton, instead of downtown Boston), miles from where it belongs.
This theatre page is missing the link for adjusting the Street View: http://cinematreasures.org/theaters/24
No, I want to be able to look back more than 100 theatres to see which ones have new comments. This should be easy to add to your site.
“View all 197 comments” doesn’t actually work, by the way. It doesn’t show all comments, just the most recent 25 commetns. To see earlier ones I still have to page back, 25 comments at a time. That’s probably not what you intended.
The map and street view do not currently show the correct location for this theatre. It should be about ¾ miles south of what the map shows, at the corner of Washington and Lagrange streets.
