Madstone announced that they were going out of business and all their theatres were closing in 7 June 2004. The theatre in San Diego is being picked up by Mann theatres and re-opening on 16 June, 2004. The theatre in Florida is going to remain open and being operated by a third party.
These people bought the GCC cinema that AMC did not pick up in th Atlanta area, in Silver Spring.
Losing proposition.. the theater is near a main street but a block away facing the wrong way!!
Does anyone have information on the Tampa Madstone theatre? Such as when it will reopen, what it will be called, and if they have a web site?
The Albuquerque Madstone Theater will continue to live on under a new management and in a new location. Check this site: http://www.kaylenskastle.com
Madstone, as noted previously by Chuck 1231, reverted to Mann in Hazard Center in '04. In the Arts Section of last Sunday's S.D. Union-Tribune, it appears that the small UltraStar chain has now acquired these Hazard Center theaters near Mission Valley.
