YOUR COMMENTS
Although this theater isn't necessarily up to par with the other, flashy, local theaters, it is small, quaint, and offers an inexpensive way to watch movies. There is a nice mixture of movies offered at Elvis; some movies are a few weeks off of the premiere and others are a few weeks away from being released to DVD. Their food is decently priced and if you happen to shop at the Albertsons at Chatfield and Kipling (possibly the other Albertsons as well), the receipts have a buy one, get one free admission on the back. A movie for two for the bargain basement price of $2.50-$3.50? I will overlook a few broken chairs.
To respond to the earlier statement, I go there enough with my daughter for a nice Sunday movie. The floors are of the same consistancy as any other theater. There isn't days worth of trash anywhere, and though the garbage bins outside of the theaters aren't particularly pretty, they serve their purpose. I haven't ever used the bathrooms, but I have never known them to not be in working order. In fact, I believe that it is required for the restroom facilities to be functional in order for this business to operate. I think for an older, cheaper theater, the above comment was overly harsh. Do you want to impress your date here? Probably not. Do you want to see a good movie at a cheaper price while not driving across town to Tiffany Plaza? Well, this is the theater for you. Your other two options for a cheap movie would be to see one before noon on the weekends ($5) or to wait for it to come to video. I find this theater perfect for when I don't want to fork over another $9 to see a movie I have already seen, but I can't wait for it to come to video either.
Ok people crack me up. For $2.50 to $3.50 per movie what do you expect a 30 million dollar high class stadium plush seating with attendants with the little flash lights and a person cleaning every spill as the spill happens? This is why people call this the dollar movies. Do not expect much. This is a good place if you would like to check out a movie that you want to see but feel that paying $11.00 is not worth it. Besides the way movies go any more it seems like movies only last a couple weeks in the expensive theaters any way. So for the first comment don't go to the dollar movies take your self over to the $11.00 movies and leave people that do not want to pay the high price. Or the people that are poor and this is the only way they can see movies.
You make some good points. There are a lot of people who don't mind the conditions and only wish to save a few bucks. I am not one of them. I rarely have an evening out and when I do, I want to enjoy it. To each his own - however, I do think this place actually borders on hazardous - when I say broken seats, and filthty conditions I am not exagerating. A person could actually injure themselves trying to sit in some of those seats, and I hope anyone who uses the restroom has a strong constitution. There was actually excrement on the floor when I went, and the toilets were not operational. I have seen cleaner restrooms in third world countries where you might expect less than sanitary conditions.
I have been to modest dollar theatres where the movies are past their prime, the restrooms are nothing special, but clean, the seats are not multiplex standard, but in good repair, and the floors are not pristine, but you don't have to shove garbage to the floor in order to sit down. I don't think you have to put up with these atrocious conditions just because you paid only $2.50 for your ticket. I like to save a buck now and then - that is why I rely on the video store to see movies that are not first run. At least my home is clean and safe, and rented movies are even cheaper than the Elvis. At the Elvis, seats are $2.50-$3.50 PER PERSON (that is $15-$20 for a family of 5). I can get a rented movie for as little as $1.00 - $5.00 THAT COVERS THE WHOLE FAMILY. Add a nice take out dinner and my family and I are set for the evening! My point is that even $2.50 per person mounts up very quickly and you still end up spending a chunk of change - especially when you add the cost of gas and dinner. And I just don't think the experience is enjoyable. When I go out, I am prepared to pay for something a little nicer. If you don't mind the Elvis, then by all means, go with my blessing! It just is not my cup of tea. ;D
elvis is just a theater where people go to get a discount. I have been here over 30 times and i have never had to push garbage off the seat and the bathrooms were always in good working order. Every single seat ive sat in was never broken, so i may of been just getting lucky but i dont think so. There is not a lot of trash on the floor either. The food prices are normal i think. This place however is not a good date theater, but for a family it is a great place
I have been to both locations and they have always been clean and friendly. I have never seen broken toilets or filthy conditions....in fact I find it to be just as nice as some of the first run theatres with the high prices. I am not sure if Rubicon1954 is crazy, a liar, or both. I had my daughters B Day party at the Littleton location and it was awesome. If you want a nice clean theatre for your family at an honest price Elvis Cinemas is the place for you.
The conditions at that theater were exactly as I described on the day I went there. Needless to say I never went back and do not know if that day was normal for that establishment. If you have consistently had a different experience, then perhaps I went on a day when they were understaffed and things had gone wrong. However, I an not a liar, nor am I crazy. I simply had a different experience from you. Next time you call someone names, you might make sure it is someone you know, and can speak about with some authority. You do not know me, nor have you ever even seen me. I think you have taken more liberties with my character, than I did with my completely honest review of my experience at Elvis. If you like Elvis, then go there, and give them a good review. My experience was not pleasant, and I said so. Sorry if I stepped on your toes, but please do not call me names just because you disagree with my comments. Shame on you.
For what it's worth, I too have visited both Elvis locations, probably more than 100 times in total over the last 7-8 years. I've always found them to be clean, well staffed by friendly young people, and restrooms always clean and functional. Some guys may overlook a dirty bathroom, and I'm that way myself. However, my wife is very picky about such things and she's never complained about the bathrooms at Elvis. In contrast, there are many public venues (e.g. sporting events, concerts, etc) where she'll refuse to use the facilities because of smell, dirty sinks, etc. She's always been perfectly okay with Elvis, so that says something about their cleanliness. No trash on the floors or seats either. I've experienced two times when a sat in an Elvis seat that was "broken" in that it sloped downward slightly from the normal angle and thus wasn't going to be comfortable for a 2-hour sit. I simply moved to another seat. Easy enough. Next time I visited it appeared as though they’d fixed the broken seat, so they seem to care about such things. The floors sometimes are a bit sticky in places (from someone in the last showing spilling a coke, no doubt), but I've experienced the same thing many times in first-run theaters too, so this is not unique to Elvis...it goes with the territory when you have people drinking sugar water in the dark. ;-) Many times we have used the "two-for-one" coupons on back of grocery receipts to drop our entry price even further, so this is a great place to save money and see movies on the big screen (versus waiting to watch them on DVD at home). The management also doesn’t seem to mind people bringing their own food or drinks into the theater, so we sometimes do that to save money as well...esp if we’ve not had dinner yet and are rushing to make the next showing. Net, the Elvis theaters provide a very nice experience at rock-bottom prices. I now refuse to pay $9 or $11 to see a movie anywhere else. I.d encourage all other movie buffs to go check out the Elvis...get your own experience there before you decide it’s not worth it. Everyone I know thinks they are great....and we all can afford to pay $11....we just elect not to pay a hefty premium to see movies when they first come out....we wait a few weeks and go see the same movies at Elvis. For those who must see movies when they’re first released, then Elvis isn’t your theater.
I've never been to the Elvis but I am looking forward to it! The Elvis is the only theater that will play a movie I've been waiting to see for months. Repo, if anyone cares, so, cheers! I don't give a sh*t if there is vomit on all the door handles and hookers giving hand jobs in the hot dog mayo. I wanna see this movie and I'm taking my date there too! Sounds like Rubicon 1954 needs to have Sarah Palin's rotten carcass forced down his/her throat. It's just too bad Sarah Palin is not dead yet. I'll be there January 3rd getting gay married, if you wanna fight, prickhole!
Sounds like Rubicon is a disgruntled person in general. Sad to see someone so unhappy.

The films shown are not first release, so if you wait a few weeks, you will be able to check them out and see them in the comfort of your own home. I do not recommend this as a pleasant evening out.
