Lansing Heritage
Website devoted to the legacy of a pioneer in cinema sound - James B. Lansing. Contains a history of milestones in theatre sound systems from Lansing Manufacturing’s Shearer Horn, Altec Lansing Voice of the Theatre through to JBL’s current state-of-the-art.
Rose Marine Theater
This theater dates back to 1918, and is in the heart of Fort Worth’s northside. In the 1940s - 1980s, the theater showed films in Spanish. From the 1980s to 2000, the theater was boarded up, and was fully restored in October, 2000. Today, the theater shows live performing arts events and films dedicated to serving a Hispanic audience.
Historic Louis Curtiss Studio
Architect Louis Curtiss, of the Willis Wood Theater(cinema treasures) in Kansas City, MO. This building at 1118 McGee has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1972. The studio and living quarters of the architect have undergone restoration as of January 2004.
Draken - the best cinema in Göteborg
Fansite devoted to the Draken theatre in Göteborg, Sweden. With lots of pictures and information, it’s acrhitectural and technical history from it’s start in 1956 to the Cinerama presentations to it’s current status. In English.

Kjell Furberg is a Swedish photographer and cinema historian who has published several books on the cinemas of Sweden and Stockholm. You can find some of his beautiful pictures and information here. In English and Swedish. Note that the links to his subpages are small and on the right.

A site dedicated to the many movie theatres Porto in Portugal once had. Many photographs of theatres, but also tickets, brochures and flyers. Unfortunately, all in Portuguese.
Silent Screens: The Decline and Transformation of the American Movie Theater (Creating the North American Landscape)
Stunning B&W photographs show the demise of the Single Screen theatres of America, in a Widescreen format. It shows the theatres in their current state, decaying and rotting away, which can be very pretty if you don’t mind the romance and beauty of gone glory.
