The Orleans Theatre
This site is dedicated to the early memory of the Orleans Theatre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pladates are listed from opening day, May 15, 1963 up to the grand opening of the Orleans as a Twin Theatre on May 24, 1972. Come visit and let us know what you think. Also, we encourage all to share their memories of the Orleans Theatre.
Star Cinema
A regional chain in Wisconsin and Iowa, Star Cinema currently owns and operates 97 screens in nine theatres, including an IMAX screen in Madison, Wisconsin.
NYC & Times Square Photos
This is a website belonging to photographer Matt Weber who has compiled a wonderful collection of black & white street scenes shot mostly in NYC, including a number of images of the Times Square area in the late 1980’s. While not specifically a movie theater-related site, Matt did capture a number of memorable images featuring as backdrops some of the porn and grind theaters on 42nd Street and Times Square. These photos are scattered around the site under various topics, but I think you’ll have a good time surfing through some of the other images included in each grouping. Check out the “Crumbling New York” section as well as the link to “NYC Photos for Sale”. Anyone with an interest in street-life photography should definitely check out Matt’s work as well as some of the insightful things he has to say on the topic of “Street Photography”.
