Dallas, Texas based dsgn associates provided design services for the theatre chain Rave Motion Pictures from the time of the exhibitor’s founding in 1999. dsgn’s contribution includes everything from the architecture and interior design of the theatres to the company’s logo and even its stationary.

Metropolitan Theatres

Founded in 1923, Metropolitan was for many years the dominant movie exhibitor in downtown Los Angeles, operating most of the neighborhood’s vintage movie palaces. With the decline of movie attendance in central Los Angeles, the company refocused its operations, primarily to the Santa Barbara area, though it continues to operate several cinemas in other parts of California. In recent years the company has also expended its operations into Colorado, Idaho, Utah, and British Columbia.

A regional architecture and civil engineering firm located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Paradigm has designed multiplex theatres for several exhibitors in the Great Lakes area. In addition, the firm planned the restoration of the historic Wealthy Theatre in Grand Rapids.

A planning, urban design and architecture firm with offices in Westlake Village, California, BBA has designed and planned more than 100 cinema projects in the United States. Their work has included projects for the Edwards, Mann, Galaxy and Brenden chains. BBA was the firm that planned the expansion and partial restoration of the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

TK Architects

Headquartered in Kansas City, TK Architects specializes in theatres and other entertainment facilities, and has designed cinemas across the United States as well as overseas. Chains for which they have designed multiplexes include Edwards, Regal, Cinemark, and Warren. The firm also worked on the restoration of the historic Thomas Lamb-designed Midland Theatre in Kansas City.

Brenden Theatres

Brenden Theatres opened its first theatre in Pittsburg, California in 1990. By 2007, the company had grown to a chain with six locations in Northern California and Southern Nevada, and a total of 86 screens, including one IMAX theatre in its Palms Las Vegas multiplex. An additional Nevada location is to open soon.
