CineMagic Theatres
Minneapolis-based CineMagic Theatres operates eight multiplexes in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. Their operations include an IMAX screen at their Metropolitan Theatre in St. Michael, MN.
Epic Theatres
Epic Theatres is a small but growing chain based in DeLand, Florida, with cinemas in Florida, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. Currently operators of 39 screens in five locations, the company has an additional five locations in development, including an expansion into Tennessee, which will give them an additional 74 screens.
ADW Architects
With offices in Charlotte, North Carolina, ADW Architects has designed multiplex theatres for such chains as Consolidated Theatres and the Regal Entertainment Group.
Cinema City International
Headquartered in the Netherlands, Cinema City International has operating subsidiaries in Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Israel. It is a rapidly expanding chain which has more than 500 screens in more than 60 locations in central and eastern Europe and in Israel. The company is the only operator of IMAX theatres in several eastern European countries.
Cineplex Entertainment
Toronto-based Cineplex Entertainment LP is the largest movie exhibitor in Canada, with more than 1300 screens in 130 locations, operating under the brand names Cineplex Odeon, Galaxy, Famous Players, Coliseum, Colossus, SilverCity, Cinema City, and Scotiabank Theatres.
Showplace Cinemas
Dominating the cinema market in the Evansville, Indiana area, local chain Showplace Cinemas operates more than fifty screens in five locations, including one IMAX theatre.
SPG-3
Formerly known as Shapiro Petrauskas Gelber Architects, SPG-3 is a Philadelphia firm which has designed projects for National Amusements and Muvico Theatres, among others.
Frank Theatres
Frank Theatres operates cinemas in 17 locations from New Jersey to Florida, with a total of more than 160 screens.
JK Roller Architects, LLC
JK Roller Architects is a Philadelphia firm founded in 1984. They have designed cinemas for various small chains and independent operators as well as large outfits such as Regal. The firm also designed the renovation of the historic Ambler Theatre in Ambler, Pennsylvania.
Turnage Theatre has an encore
The Turnage Theatre, built in 1930 and closed in 1979, reopened this weekend after a 10 year restoration effort. The theatre will serve a variety of venues including plays, dance and film. With offices in Portland, Oregon, and Las Vegas, Nevada, WPH Architecture is a diversified firm founded in 1997. It has designed numerous multiplex cinemas, mostly in the six western states, both for independent operators and for theatre chains such as Act III and Regal. |
