The Messenger Opera House was never used as a movie theatre. The Opera House still stands today as a single story structure. The upper floors were damaged by Hurricane Hazel in Oct. 1954 and were removed. The Carolina Theatre that sit next to it was torn down late 60’s early 70’s.
