The Gaiety theatre may not have been the most successful theatre but it certainly tried a lot of different things. Opening in 1912 (at left) and going bankrupt and relaunching in August of 1912 (top right), the theatre tried children’s matinees, African American programming, boxing, vaudeville, photoplays (long films), short films, and public events before closing after six years and many different operators.
