Just inside the front doors to the Absinthe House and before the lobby, this room was immediately on the right, where one could relax and hang before and after screenings.
I remember this final version of the room’s décor, but as I said in my comment I also remember a somewhat different previous version: “The room where the concession stand had been was now reconceived by the guys into a space with couches, film posters, subdued lighting, multi-colored walls, and an artsy living room/den-type vibe.”
I now remember that people enjoying the room could purchase refreshments at the bar against the back wall with the popcorn popper in the photo, while concessions were to the rear of the lobby at the box office window next to the auditorium doors.
The new cinema on Biscayne Boulevard mentioned in the caption was the Mercury, later Soyka.
