Pictured are the three invoices from the major newspapers of the Quad Cities covering advertising costs for Dick Clark’s Spring Caravan of Stars. The shows were at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 18, 1965, at the RKO Orpheum Theater. Caravan of Stars featured 15 acts, which included The Velvelettes, The Shangri-Las, Tommy Roe, Jewel Akens, Dee Dee Sharp, Mike Clifford, Mel Carter, Del Shannon, the Ad Libs, the Executives, the Ikettes, Major Lance and Jimmy Soul. Matinee tickets were $2 and $2.50, while the evening show tickets were $3, $2.50 and $2.
