The Comedy Club is a comedy theater, unfortunately not a movie theater anymore…
The premises closed in 2006, but as of August 2009, the site is still untouched, due to legal battles by local associations to deny the closing procedure, and try to keep a movie activity in this area of Paris, which begins to be seriously deprived of them
The correct name spelling runs: “FilmothÃ¨que du Quartier latin”! :)
Utopia, a independant movie chain from Southern France, used the premises and gave it its name from 1985 to 1995.
According to other sources, the conversion date to silent movies is 1907, not 1917.
After the CinemathÃ¨que left the premises, it was called CinÃ©ma du Monde but closed eventually in 2007, apparently for good.
