This is a souvenir paperweight of the O'Farrell St. Orpheum. It measures 2 5/8" wide, by 4 1/8" tall, by ¾" in thickness. It was given to me in the late 1990s by my friend, Bay Area antique dealer, architectural salvage specialist and estate liquidator, Mark Santa Maria. He had found it in the contents of an estate he was handling at the time. Note the swing-out sign in the upper left corner, reading “Orpheum Theatre, Vaudeville.” As shown in the other images of the facade posted on this page, the Orpheum also had a vertical sign. In all likelihood, the swing-out sign predated the vertical.
