Henry's Theatre 1943

A 1943 photo of the Henry’s Theatre. Note the barber pole to the left of the picture. There was a barber shop located in the basement of the lobby to the theatre. The barber shop remained until the late 1940’s when a renovation took place that relocated the boxoffice to where the stairway had been. The stairway was still evident in the basement of the theatre back in 1979 when the theatre was closed. I believe it was called the “Central Barber Shop” and upon leaving the site below the theatre moved to a second floor location on the northwest corner of Public Square.
