great place, go all the time…remember seeing “Bound” and during the racy lesbian scenes a couple of hillbillies from East Berne or something snorted and guffawed…most patrons found them quite entertaining…
Saw “Altered States” (in a chemically induced altered state) around 1980…also Strathmore Bowling nearby.

I lived nearby in Madison Park and went to many movies there in the 70s/early 80s including some of the x rated variety. I remember seeing “Squirm” a movie about giant snakes terrorizing the people, and walking home through the woods getting terrorized a bit by some Sayreville punks.
Grew up in Madison Park across Route 9 saw many movies there, Jeremiah Johnson in early 70s my sister and I were only ones at a 4:00 weekday show.
Remember a big lobby with lots of paintings.
I remember being in the backseat of my parents car when they went to see The Saint Valentine’s Day Massacre here in late 60s…They probably thought I was sleeping but I was awake to see the (for its time) gruesome machine gunning scene. It gave me nightmares (and obviously memories) for a long time.
nice place but a bizarre access, can take escalator up but not down…to exit you must walk into mall and take escalator down (or take the one slow crowded elevator)…pretty hokey….
Cruised in here on my way from south NJ to north NJ with some time to kill in early 90s…caught Little Odessa…nice place, good to see an art theater in the suburban wilderness.
Recall as a kid making a prank call to the theater about their showing porn…the crusty smoke voiced woman who answered told me off with a few f-bombs….
Saw some films here when visiting family in central Jersey in 80s/90s…seemed like a shaky operation but they brought much needed “art” movies to area…Also a little hard to find as I recall.
This was open until at least 1986 when I moved to Albany…Atmospheric to say the least but a neat arty companion to Spectrum…Saw the wild In the Realm of the Senses there…
I worked there in late 70s…Yes great sound system for certain movies…Drive-in was a zoo, $4 a carload so the place for punks to drink unmolested for hours, not always fun for workers…

Cool place…and Poco, Bruce Cockburn, Del McCoury Band aren’t stale!!

Saw Animal House circa 1979 after warming up with beers and smoke in the parking lot…

Recall as a kid making a prank call one time about their playing porn, and smoky voiced lady told me off with a few f-bombs!
Recall as a higher end/slightly pricier place…Saw Human Factor in 70s and Top Secret in 80s…go go bar called Talk of the Town was nearby.
Then there were the deep fried hamburgers we “cooked” up…guess with enough beer/weed they were edible enough…
Remember it used to get rowdies from certain neighboring towns to the north at certain shows…think security was provided/needed.
Had a rather pungent aroma in its last year or two…

Used to be a DMV car inspection place right next to/in the drive-in grounds…
Seem to recall midnite cult stuff like Eraserhead and Rocky Horror played there in 70s (unless I’m confusing with another place in New Brunswick)….
Remember this, tiny/cozy…Had some art movies, lo budget stuff like Macon County Line, and occasional “hi end” porn (Deep Throat).
