I have volunteered and worked on many projects in the Town of Bourne for many years, none of them as community minded as this one. The Buzzards Bay Theater will open again, but not without the support of its community.
Growing up in Bourne I always had the Buzzards Bay Theater to go to with family and friends. All my children grew up with this opportunity also. Over the past few years we as a community have not been so fortunate. But now we can again enjoy this type of entertainment. Jeff Avery and his family have been working hard to re-open this Main Street icon for all to enjoy.
Mr. Avery has over-come most all the obstacles in the way of a grand opening but for the seats. When he began this journey the seats removed when Hoytâ€\s left were still available for him to bring back, but because of needed repairs and upgrades at that time they could not be brought back until those things were done. This took time and more funding then anticipated. That time proved to become a loss-the seats were sold. With little time to waste, more seats have been found. This is how I am involved; 620 of them are available at a cost of $25.00 each
Would you purchase a seat or two in your name? Mr. Avery and the Buzzards Bay Theater will place your name on a mural in the lobby of the theater as a supporter. In addition you will receive 3 Gift Certificates for admission to the movie of your choice, popcorn and a drink – a $22.50 valve for your donation of $25. Also your name will be put in a drawing for a $1000.00 BMX Bike which will be drawn as soon as all seats are purchased and a second drawing of 100 Gift Certificates for admission, popcorn and drink, a $750.00 value or $300 cash, your choice. What an opportunity for you and for our community.
