Thanks very much! The Liberty is a hard one to shoot, with the jet blacks and the bright whites together!
I shot a few photos of the Liberty Theater when I passed through Murphysboro last summer. Here’s a link to the first one of the set. The others are there on my Flickr photostream as well.
On my trip through downstate Illinois last Summer, I shot some photos of the Varsity. Here’s a link to the first one. Subsequent ones follow on my Flickr photostream.
I shot some photographs of the Massac Theater while on
a road trip through Southern Illinois this past Summer. Here’s a link to the first one in my Flickr photostream.
It’s odd since I planned my trips partly by using Cinema Treasures to see where theatres to photograph were located, but somehow I missed the Arcade. I’m afraid if they have done anything to that building, I didn’t notice it and didn’t realize it was there. Sorry.
I just shot some pictures of the Colombia while I was in town on a photography trip over the Summer. Here’s a link to the first of the set on my Flickr page.
While looking for into on this theatre online, I also found think like to a video interview of a city employee who’s part of a team that may be working to renovate the building.
I just shot some photos of the Granada Theater on my trip through Southern Illinois this Summer. Here’s a link to them on my Flickr page.

Here are some pictures I shot of the Liberty Theater this Summer on a drive through Illinois.
Liberty Theater pictures.
I was in Effingham to photograph the Heart Theater this past Summer and just got around to editing and posting my photos of her. Here’s a photo of the whole facade. You can see the rest of my shots adjacent to this one in my photostream.
Heart Theatre Facade
I took a few pictures of the Time Theater when I was there this past Summer. I do have one picture of the interior that I shot by holding my lens up against the window of a door.
Here’s a link to the first photo. You can see the rest by paging through my photostream from there.
It looks like this building is currently being used as a nightclub for people with mental illness or disability. There’s an interesting article about this here: http://www.voanews.com/content/illinois-nightclub-caters-to-mentally-challenged—137487468/162769.html
Also, here’s a photograph of the theatre I made this Summer. I’ll post a few more once I’m done with school in a couple weeks.
Looks like this might be a duplicate of the entry for the Avenue (or vis versa).
The other listing on this site for a Central Theatre in Chicago is fairly far away. Did the Central that was near the Revue have another name?
I just shot a couple of pictures of the State while on the way through Sycamore at sunset yesterday. Here are links to them:
Theatres are one of my photographic ‘collections’; I have a bunch more to post when I get the time.
