  • <p>The UA South 8 opened May 23, 1984. The ad prominently features the THX certified 70mm house as its primary competition of the General Cinemas Redbird Mall 1-4 and their 5-10 across the street were technologically inferior but better located. The ad also gives potential patrons a map which you really needed because there was no direct exit to the theater. Despite great visibility from the highway, even a veteran Dallasite found a trip to the UA South a bit challenging.</p>
