Designed by Dallas architect W. Scott Dunne for Interstate Theaters (1936). The photo above shows the building after its conversion to a Mexican restaurant. Only the facade and marquee survive.

The above photo is correct. The map location and the description of the theater being near the Museum District are wrong. The theater is north of Woodland Heights near the North Freeway. The building is now a church.

Alabama Theater is now a Trader Joe’s grocery store. The facade and marquee are still in place, but there is almost nothing left of the theater decoration inside.
