The Electric Pavilion (now Ritzy Picturehouse) can be seen left of centre in this vintage view, possibly taken from the roof of Brixton Town Hall. To the right of the cinema is the very narrow entrance to the Brixton Theatre with the auditorium located behind. This was a playhouse, designed by noted theatre architect Frank Matcham which was destroyed by German bombs in World War II. The large building on the right is the still existing Brixton Library.
