Majestic Theatre cameo

posted by Philbert Gray on September 19, 2008 at 7:40am

RENO, NV — “The Captive City” - a 1952 crime drama took place in the fictional city of Kennington. The actual location of the shooting was Reno, Nevada.

Towards the beginning of the film John Forsythe parks his car on a downtown street. While he is standing on the sidewalk, there is a prominent shot of Reno’s now demolished Majestic Theatre in the background.

The film will be shown on TCM cable channel Oct. 2, 2008. The film has also recently been shown on the MGMHD movie channel for those of you with Dish TV.
