This is the Rialto in 1936. For locating it on St George’s Road note the church at the other side of the side road beyond the cinema; and note the cornice on the building nearer the camera and next to the Rialto’s gated entrance. The church and the cornice are still there (2014).
The boy with the shopping basket (near the camera) is looking at the still for the film “Gambling” which was released in 1934 in the USA.
