Wow. One of the all time biggest bombs for this or any other theater I was ever associated with. I saw plenty of other movies do worse, but given the build up, movie budget, and most importantly the size of the advance Weis had to put up, it was a massive failure. Notice that in only the third week they have already dropped the weekend late shows as well as the 2pm shows Monday through Friday. This was just the type of gamble that made Weis a big player in the first run business, but as the 70’s progressed there were more like this one, Gable and Lombard, 7 Percent Solution, and Nicholas and Alexandra and not enough like Godfather, Love Story, Ryan’s Daughter, and American Graffiti.

Before the decade was out, Weis was gone.
