Frank was at the theatre from the early 1960’s, having transferred from the Essoldo Durham, itself an important theatre in those far off times. He had been seconded to Newcastle (whilst still Durham’s Manager) to assist with the advance booking and extremely high volume of business experienced with the 22 week run of ‘Ben-Hur’ and it must be assumed that he proved his worth when the post of Resident Manager became available subsequently.

When the Essoldo closed in February 1971 (last film ‘Tropic of Cancer’) for its six month closure for twinning, Frank was there almost until reopening week when he suddenly left and was replaced by Chris O'Neill, a Manager for the Orr Circuit at the Empire & Arcadian, Morecambe.
