Orpheum as the Malco or possibly Malcom in the late `50's.
Does anyone have any information on the Orpheum’s name change in the `50’s when this picture of Elvis was taken. It’s definitely the same building & marquee.

Elvis worked as an usher at the Loews State in Memphis, but was fired for being late too much.
Loews State can be seen in the background of this photo.Loews Palace was around the corner at 81 Union Ave.
The Orpheum was purchased by M A Lightman in 1940 and was renamed the Malco (M A Lightman CO). It was renamed the Orpheum in 1976 after being taken over by Memphis Development Foundation.
