Remarks:
This was field 1. Between the screen and the wooden fence, drivers would enter from Waterloo Rd and queue at the entrance. There were booths which looked similar to a tool booth on the Harbour Bridge.
Note that each field had a projection box consisting of two movie projectors and one slide projector. Occasionally the Venetian blind were open and you could see “Century” on the movie projector. The cooling system appeared to have a bubbling device behind the arc lamp. I also recalled 19" racks behind the projector with red lamps.
