Thanks NYer. Doris has left us and gone on to the big screen in the heavens. Must have been a great stage show and movie.

When I was working at the Music Hall in ‘76 one of the box office ladies who went back quite a ways said that this show was one of the busiest she ever worked. She remembered the crowds even at the evening shows. It continued to run for a while after they pulled the out of season Glory of Easter. Though the Music Hall would do it for any holiday film that was a huge success and they were able to hold onto it. I saw The Tulip Time in Holland finale with the '73 Easter show Tom Sawyer.

Jean Kerr the popular playwright upon whose very successful book this movie was based gets just about the tiniest credit ever for a prominent writer. She needed a better agent.
