Akers Mill Cinema

Hobby Lobby building sits on the site of the section of the shopping center where the theater was located. The theater was at the far end of the center with the driveway running alongside. The site of the LA Fitness was a huge gulch until the mid 80’s. There was talk of GCC putting an 8 there but the went with Merchants Walk, Sandy Springs, and Hairston instead. In the late 90’s the built the 15 screen Parkway Point just Out of this picture yo the right. It was among the last theaters built by GCC and the only one in Atlanta that AMC took over.
