Akers Mill Cinema

General area of Akers Mill. The theater was on the site of the Hobby Lobby building just beyond that orange awning. Just beyond that is the Cobb Preforming Arts Center, a live performance venue. To the left is the massive Galleria office complex and the location of the old AMC Galleria 8 which was one of the top grossing theaters in Atlanta during its prime. To the left of that where all of the construction cranes are visible is The Battery with the new Braves baseball park just visible behind that brown building.

None of these developments were there when Akers Mill opened in 1977.
