Artists impression of Townsville’s new Wintergarden tropical theatre published at the time of opening 4th June 1927. Designed by Henry E. White, it was one of a chain of ‘wintergardens’ opened along the Queensland coast during that decade by Birch, Carroll & Coyle. The Sturt Street block had a frontage of 80 feet, and was 165 feet deep.
