Like most of the other Richmond movie theaters of this era, the Rio would occasionally supplement it’s mainstream programming with a an exploitation film, and restrict it’s viewing to adults only.
By today’s standards most would be rated G
and insufferable to sit through.
“Sinful Souls” and played the Rio in July 1948.
