Hoyts Carnegie Theatre 18-22 Woorayl Street, Carnegie, VIC - 1935 architect’s refurbishment drawing.
In 1935 Hoyts Theatres extensively re-furbished the theatre and installed sound. The grand re-opening was on Aug 17, 1935 with a capacity of 900. Television arrived in the middle 1950’s and the theatre was forced to close in 1959. The building sadly is no longer there and has been developed into modern apartments.
